**About the Role**:

The New Zealand public sector spends a significant amount on purchases of goods and services from suppliers to support the delivery of its activities. As the General Manager, New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP), you will lead New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) Branch.

This role is responsible for providing cross-government leadership and capability to achieve effective and efficient results from Government's procurement activities. In particular, the General Manager NZGP will deliver the All-of-Government procurement programme, provide policy advice on Government Procurement and maintain technical capabilities to respond to emerging procurement and all-of-government contract opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have an ability to operate effectively as a Public Sector General Manager, leading a large branch and delivering a significant work programme. They will also be able to quickly establish and build strong internal and external working relationships including with Ministers and senior officials.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to think strategically and work through complex political situations with high ambiguity and under pressure. They will also have significant experience working in government with an excellent understanding of government processes and operating environments.
