**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Cultural Liaison Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Nga Manu Atarau directorate, you will play a critical role in strengthening relationships between Te Papa and iwi, engagement and partnership.

In this dynamic role, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that promote te reo me nga tikanga, te ao Maori, and Te Papa's ability to meet its Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and legislative mandate.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of tikanga me nga Te Reo Maori, as well as experience engaging with iwi and Maori organisations. You will also possess exceptional communication and relationship building skills, including demonstrated experience in consultation and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships between Te Papa and iwi
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote te reo me nga tikanga, te ao Maori, and Te Papa's ability to meet its Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and legislative mandate
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with iwi and Maori organisations
  • Provide expert advice on tikanga me nga Te Reo Maori to inform decision-making
