Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Capability Development Advisor to join our team in Wellington. As a key member of our dynamic and agile team, you will work closely with the Manager Procurement Workforce and Capability to enhance the skills and expertise of the procurement workforce across the public sector.

About the Role

This role provides an opportunity to work collaboratively with other government agencies to support procurement capability through individual training and development, organisational capability assessments, and providing data and insights. You will be expected to contribute to the design, development and implementation of workforce and capability initiatives, including supporting agencies implementing functional lead initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of procurement workforce capabilities
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of workforce and capability initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with other government agencies to support procurement capability
  • Monitor and manage external mailbox and work programme planning, agile sprints, and retrospectives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of theory and good practice in Learning and Development
  • Contributed to projects, completing tasks to scope, time and budget, achieving successful outcomes
  • Understanding of Agile methodology, particularly facilitating sprints
  • Understanding of procurement and the ability to relay procurement concepts and processes to a wide audience
  • Able to identify key risks, issues, or actions
  • Understanding of good commercial practice
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
