**Job Overview**

The position of Senior Community Advisor is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. As a key member of the Hamilton City Council team, you will play a crucial role in building and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders and organizations.

You will work closely with the Community Advisor and Grants Manager to identify opportunities for collaboration and support, helping to address some of the challenges faced by the city.

This role offers the chance to join a diverse and supportive team that prioritizes community development. If you have a strong background in social relationships, existing connections in Hamilton, and experience addressing complex community issues, this could be the ideal position for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIPS: Foster strong connections with community stakeholders, organizations, and internal teams to drive positive change.
  • SUPPORT COMMUNITY CAPABILITY: Identify areas where community capacity can be improved and provide support to achieve these goals.
  • LEAD COMMUNITY GRANTS POLICY: Contribute to the development and implementation of effective community grants policies.

Requirements:

  • At least ten years of relevant work experience in social relationships.
  • Existing strong community relationships in Hamilton.
  • Proven experience in addressing complex community development issues.
  • Good understanding of community development.
  • Professional report writing skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of community funding and the ability to navigate key relationships in this space.
