This role offers an opportunity to contribute to transforming the future of health in a Public Health Nurse position.

You will be responsible for delivering public health nursing services across the community, focusing on assessment of population health, attention to multiple determinants of health, and commitment to best evidence-based practice.

The successful candidate will work as part of the National Public Health Service within Health New Zealand, working towards healthy futures for all by engaging with wider determinants that impact people's health.

  • Focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention
  • Delivering public health services nationally planned, regionally delivered, and locally tailored
About You

To succeed in this role, you must have current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse, along with 3+ years of clinical experience and Authorised Vaccinator status.

  • Demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise and judgement, particularly when working with children and adolescents
  • Holding a currently assessed nursing portfolio via an approved PDRP programme
Key Responsibilities
  • Utilising advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking, and professional judgement
  • Providing competent care and advice while working to the top of your scope
