About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team in Nelson Tasman. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering public health nursing services across the community.

Job Description
  • Salary: Registered Nurse Salary Scales Step 1-7 Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora
  • Location: Nelson Tasman

In this role, you will contribute to transforming the future of health by working with communities to promote and protect their health. You will be part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health.

You will build and maintain positive relationships at all levels, model an agile approach, and utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking, and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to top of scope.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Clinical Experience: 3+ years clinical experience, Authorised Vaccinator or interest in completing training, demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and clinical judgement, particularly when working with children and adolescents
  • Nursing Portfolio: Hold a currently assessed nursing portfolio as assessed via an approved Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP)
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
