Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Registered Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary inpatient mental health team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to patient-centered care, and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

About the Role
This 11-month fixed-term position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, providing inpatient care for acute through to rehabilitation. You will be working 80 hours a fortnight, rotating roster Sunday to Monday, and will be expected to demonstrate a high level of autonomy, resilience, and cultural awareness.

About You
To be successful in this role, you must be a NZ Registered Nurse with a passion for mental health care. You should be confident in your ability to work independently, manage a busy workload, and prioritize tasks effectively. Additionally, you should have a strong commitment to reducing barriers that make accessing services difficult for Māori clients and be willing to learn and grow within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in our inpatient mental health team, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions. You will also be required to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and maintain effective communication channels.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act, 1992 knowledge
  • Paper Presentation Proficiency Report (PPPR) Act understanding
  • Sensory Modulation Principles in Mental Health expertise
  • Mental status examinations and risk assessments proficiency
