The Role
We're seeking an experienced people leader to join our team as a Team Leader Biodiversity and Biosecurity. As a key member of our partnership programme, you'll provide engaging leadership that drives high performance and outcomes.
You'll champion and support teams who are delivering high-profile work in collaboration with others relating to wilding pine and wallaby control in Canterbury, as well as implementing biosecurity actions on behalf of the Chathams Island Council.
Your Responsibilities
- Support staff and contractors to deliver large-scale work across the region
- Implement operational work programmes that protect priority biodiversity taonga
- Provide advice and report on deliverables to senior leadership and council
- Maintain and develop collaborative working relationships to achieve outcomes
- Monitor and mitigate risks and ensure legal compliance
- Monitor biosecurity effectiveness and trends
About You
You'll have experience building and sustaining important relationships across multiple entities at various levels to enable delivery of agreed outcomes.
Previous experience in people leadership, contract/contractor management, procurement, and health and safety standards will be pivotal to this role.
A background in project management would also be beneficial.
