Are you physically fit, motivated, and experienced in weed control? Wai-Ora Ecological Contractors is seeking skilled Weed Control and Maintenance Specialists to join our team on a fixed-term contract until the end of June 2025.
About the Role
In this role, you will support the team leader in delivering environmental restoration work, aimed at improving natural habitats across Canterbury. You will work collaboratively to restore and protect local ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise your spraying experience to safely apply herbicides under the guidance of the team leader
- Identify native plants and manage invasive weeds
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental guidelines
- Work both independently and as part of a team in outdoor environments.
What We're Looking For:
- Physically fit and capable of handling demanding fieldwork
- Comfortable working with chemicals daily (safety training will be provided)
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow instructions
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
