Job Overview

As a Senior Claimant Support Specialist, you will work closely with claimants, supporting them through the Historic Claims process and helping them achieve redress and healing.

About the Position
This fixed-term or secondment role is based in Wellington CBD and offers a unique chance to contribute to the Ministry of Social Development's commitment to delivering positive outcomes for claimants. You will be part of a whānau that values diversity, manaaki, and inclusive working environments.

Your Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Claimant Support Specialist, your duties will include:

  1. Taking the lead in engaging with claimants, understanding their experiences, and providing feedback on the outcome of their claim assessment.
  2. Supporting and mentoring other staff members to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  3. Managing complex cases, working collaboratively with technical experts when necessary.
  4. Communicating effectively with claimants throughout the life of their claim.
