This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of claimants who have been unjustly treated in State care. As a Senior Claimant Support Specialist, you will work closely with claimants, supporting them through the Historic Claims process and helping them achieve redress and healing.
About the Position
This fixed-term or secondment role is based in Wellington CBD and offers a unique chance to contribute to the Ministry of Social Development's commitment to delivering positive outcomes for claimants. You will be part of a whānau that values diversity, manaaki, and inclusive working environments.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Claimant Support Specialist, your duties will include:
- Taking the lead in engaging with claimants, understanding their experiences, and providing feedback on the outcome of their claim assessment.
- Supporting and mentoring other staff members to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Managing complex cases, working collaboratively with technical experts when necessary.
- Communicating effectively with claimants throughout the life of their claim.
