Job Description

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking an experienced Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager to lead a team of export sea logistics specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operational excellence through leadership, guidance, and coaching.

About the Role

The Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager will work closely with the National Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager to develop and implement strategies for enhancing operational capability and delivery of increased profitability in the export sea logistics business.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and support the team to ensure delivery of operational excellence throughout the entire shipment cycle for export sea logistics movements.
  • Ensure all export sea logistics operational tasks are performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with relevant teams such as customer care, sales, systems & processes, revenue, and customs to deliver a great customer experience.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach the team to create strong team morale, being open, responsive, and approachable.
  • Be the point of escalation for the team, providing solutions and coaching through problems.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure services are provided in line with SLAs.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with documentation and processes.
  • Support and resolve claims and disputes as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years freight forwarding experience with in-depth exposure to and expertise in export sea logistics operations.
  • Previous experience leading and coaching staff is highly advantageous, however the desire and passion to lead people is essential.
  • Ability to think outside the square, solve problems, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, effective time management, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Impeccable interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate positively and constructively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
