Nurse Maude provides high-quality home support and nursing care, thanks to our experienced staff.

We are seeking a Community Care Specialist to join our team of support workers, providing care across 7 days a week for a high needs client. The ideal candidate would have the following skills:

  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of the support worker role
  • NZQA Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification
  • Ability to perform all aspects and skills within the support worker role in line with best practice.

The role involves working autonomously with a wide range of clients in the community, supporting them with daily tasks and activities. This includes showering, dressing, mobility, prompting medication, compression hosiery application, housework, and meal preparation. You will also be required to liaise with colleagues regarding client care and wellbeing, and use your personal vehicle to drive between scheduled visits.

The available hours include 3 separate 2-hour visits per day and an 8-hour sleepover visit which would include hygiene, meal prep, transfers to bed, and repositioning across the 7 days. A commitment to being available to work weekend days is required.

To succeed in this role, you should be professional, honest, reliable, and friendly in your approach. You should also be able to maintain professional boundaries with clients, be fit and able to achieve all tasks associated with the position, hold a full New Zealand driver's licence, and have your own reliable transport. Additionally, you should be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and have received at least two COVID-19 vaccinations.
