Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and passionate HSEQ Advisor to join our Corporate HSEQ team. As a key player, you will provide expert support to the Divisional Partner, ensuring our Lower North Island operations meet and exceed national and local compliance requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • HSEQ Policy Development: Create and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, and management systems to ensure compliance and best practices across all sites.
  • Training and Guidance: Deliver training and provide expert guidance to all employees, championing a culture of safety and responsibility.
  • Investigation and Improvement: Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
  • A Tertiary Qualification (Degree or above) in H&S or Environmental Science.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar HSE role (preferably within the waste management or related industry).
  • A strong background in risk management and the ability to manage change effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE, ACC, and HSNO legislation and standards.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills — able to engage and influence at all levels.
  • A keen eye for detail with excellent analytical, conceptual, and research skills.
  • Great time management and the ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
