About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Administrator to join our team at Canterbury District Health Board. As a key member of our clinical services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient booking practices and supporting patient flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Booking and scheduling preadmission clinic appointments and elective inpatient admissions
- Coordinating operating lists and maintaining the waiting list
- Maintaining accurate and timely patient records within the Patient Management System (SI PICS)
- Providing excellent customer service to patients, clinicians, and external stakeholders
- Ensuring all bookings align with clinical priorities and Ministry of Health guidelines
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills – patient and people-focused
- Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate data systems
