About the Project
The MethaneSat research project aims to reduce methane emissions through the use of remote sensing technology. As a Research Associate/Postdoctoral Fellow, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on this exciting project. Your expertise in remote sensing, geospatial analysis, and data analysis will be crucial in achieving the project's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data analysis methods, including modelling and machine learning, to support the project's goals.
  • Collaborate with Ngai Tahu to ensure culturally sensitive and respectful engagement.
  • Design and implement research projects related to remote sensing and methane emissions.


Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A PhD in geomatics, geospatial science, geography, or a similar area, or a Master's degree for a Research Associate position.
  • Expertise in one or more of remote sensing, geospatial analysis, machine learning, and computational modelling.
  • Strong quantitative and data analysis skills.
  • A publication track record and experience with presentation delivery.
