About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled software engineer to join our Trimble New Zealand Geospatial development group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering significant user-facing GIS functionality in the form of web applications and related services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C# .NET development, Git, Docker, and AWS, with experience working with Jenkins, Octopus, or similar tools. You will also possess excellent analytical and decision-making skills, as well as strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and maintain applications for data import, validation, transformation, and testing, primarily using .NET (C#) applications
  2. Develop RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web API to facilitate data exchange between systems
  3. Administer and manage Geospatial Jenkins Infrastructure
  4. Implement and manage DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment
  5. Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and data quality issues
  6. Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering, or other relevant software engineering discipline
  • Demonstrable professional experience in software engineering, with recent experience in a production environment
  • Proficiency in C# .NET development, Git, Docker, and AWS
  • Experience working with Jenkins, Octopus, or similar tools
