Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Senior Advisor, Data And Analytics. As a key member of our high-performing Health Informatics development Team, you will contribute to world-leading cancer informatics initiatives, engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, and help drive innovation in New Zealand's healthcare IT sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level expertise and input to cancer informatics projects, focusing on SNOMED CT terminology implementation.
  • Manage the effective implementation of key pieces of work across both the D&A Team and wider Te Aho o Te Kahu teams.
  • Deliver consistent high-quality advice, support, oversight, and direction to stakeholders to support the delivery of the Te Aho o Te Kahu work programme.
  • Organise and manage technical, clinical, or stakeholder working groups as required.
  • Ensure all work reflects our Agency responsibilities to the priority of equity and meeting Te Tiriti obligations.
  • Provide leadership for projects and priority focus areas, working with others to ensure all work is well-planned and achieved through high-quality advice.
  • Enhance the capability of the team through guiding and mentoring of other team members during their day-to-day work.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification.
  • Experience of working in the health sector, particularly in the cancer area.
  • Completion of the Foundation SNOMED CT course is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and in appropriate language to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience in influencing people, leading work programmes, change management, and facilitation, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships.
  • An understanding of Maori tikanga and kawa and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
