This internal or interagency secondment offers a chance to make a significant impact on WorkSafe's legal services. As the Principal Legal Advisor (Advice), you will be responsible for providing intellectual and technical expertise and leadership to the legal team.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Provide high-quality legal services, both written and orally, to WorkSafe.
- Develop and implement strategies to address emerging or potential legal issues.
- Instruct and oversee the work of external counsel as necessary.
- Contribute to the development of others within the legal team through sharing knowledge, mentoring, and peer review.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced legal expertise in areas relevant to WorkSafe, particularly health and safety and public law/crown entities.
- Highly developed ability to provide accurate, pragmatic, and well-researched advice across complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain good relationships.
