About the Team:

We are a team of experienced lawyers dedicated to providing specialist legal support to the Ombudsman. We work collaboratively to deliver high-quality advice and support each other in our roles.

In this role, you will work closely with our team to:

  • Provide specialist legal support across all areas of our jurisdiction and functions
  • Work with colleagues to deliver high-quality advice and support each other in our roles

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2 years of experience practicing law and be eligible to obtain a current practising certificate as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.

We are looking for an individual who has:

  • Two years recent post-admission experience as a lawyer
  • Excellent legal research skills
  • Knowledge of public, constitutional and administrative law and experience in their practice
  • A proven ability to manage internal and external relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a challenging environment
