About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Roster Officer to join our Rostering Support team at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Waitaha Canterbury. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of staff wages.

Job Description

This permanent full-time position (40 hours per week) is available for Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm. You will work closely with our team leader and collaborate with colleagues to review and improve our rostering processes. Your primary responsibilities will include providing essential support and advice to managers, translating information into wages, and maintaining good quality payment data.

In addition to your core responsibilities, you may be involved in projects and initiatives that require collaboration with colleagues and staff. These may include training and support for people leaders and roster transactors, ensuring compliance with legislation, prioritizing work, and providing information for audits.

You will be based in our Corporate Office, Christchurch City Centre, and have the possibility to work from home on occasion. Flexibility in working hours is also possible.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable working in a complex, diverse, and fast-paced environment. We need someone who is resilient, driven, and able to work well under pressure while achieving high accuracy. An energetic problem solver with a keen eye for detail and ability to adapt their style when needed is ideal.

You must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to drive results. Intermediate knowledge of systems and reporting tools is required, as well as experience in the health sector or large 24/7 organizations. Familiarity with employment agreements and aspects of paying people is beneficial.
