We are seeking a Senior Payroll Advisor to join our dynamic payroll operations team at New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

As a key member of our team, you will work with stakeholders from various business units to ensure seamless, reliable, and efficient payroll operations.

Last year, we implemented a new Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Our team continues to work closely with the business to embed these systems and support employees in navigating the HCM for necessary information and reporting.

You will have proven experience in building and managing positive stakeholder relationships. You will be open to facilitating training sessions to help employees understand the HCM system and their obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience running end-to-end payroll as a Senior Advisor, with a track record of implementing the Holidays Act in day-to-day scenarios.
  • Subject matter expertise in NZ payroll legislation and the ability to ensure that processes, systems, and policies are in place to support compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Dedication to providing excellent and reliable payroll services, engaging with the wider team, and contributing positively to the P&C partnership approach and organisational culture.
  • Previous experience using various payroll systems, with the ability to quickly pick up new systems.
  • A continuous improvement focused lens – demonstrated ability to consider stakeholder feedback and identify opportunities to improve service.
