As part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in the field of cryogenics, focusing on designing and optimising ICs that operate at cryogenic temperatures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop cryogenic-compatible ICs for quantum computing and quantum sensing applications, utilising expertise in electrical engineering and materials science.

  • Optimise IC performance at ultra-low temperatures, employing advanced techniques for noise reduction, power efficiency, and signal integrity.

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate ICs into quantum hardware platforms, ensuring seamless operation in cryogenic environments.

  • Conduct experimental tests and simulations to validate the performance of cryogenic IC designs, applying knowledge of semiconductor materials and device physics.

  • Contribute to research publications and patent filings to protect innovations and showcase technical advancements, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

  • Cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders, academic institutions, and consortia to advance the state-of-the-art in cryogenic IC technologies, promoting collaborative research and development.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on cryogenic systems, semiconductor materials, or integrated circuits.

  • 2-5 years of experience in designing, testing, and characterising analog/mixed-signal ICs (ADC, DAC, AFE etc).

  • Familiarity with chip-level modelling, integration, and verification, as well as hands-on experience with PCB design and high-performance test equipment.

  • Proficiency in system-level modeling and simulation using MATLAB and Python, with a strong understanding of cryogenic IC performance and its associated challenges.

  • Proven ability to design, develop, and optimise analog/mixed-signal ICs for low-temperature applications, with a strong publication track record in relevant technical fields.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with external partners, with excellent communication skills for presenting research findings.
