About the Position
We are seeking an experienced High-Performance Computing Specialist to join our team at the Agency For Science, Technology And Research. As a High-Performance Computing Specialist, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance of our HPC systems and developing scalable software infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on HPC and scientific domain knowledge to new users.
- Engage with new researchers, communities, and disciplines with computationally intensive requirements.
- Practice performance engineering to large-scale HPC system and application workloads, optimizing both performance and energy efficiency.
- Profile, parallelize, and optimize user applications and workflows on our HPC systems.
- Design and implement scalable and performant HPC software infrastructure with ease of maintenance.
- Assist in designing next-generation HPC systems, including benchmarking workloads on various platforms and recommending suitable architectures.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Proven working knowledge of HPC systems and software.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python, with experience in Fortran programming being a plus.
- Familiarity with HPC development toolchains and scientific application software stacks for building HPC software.
- Experience with parallel and/or GPU programming, Linux environments, scripting languages, HPC profilers, and debuggers.
- Familiarity with HPC job schedulers, OpenMP, MPI, and container technologies.
- Familiarity with HPC storage solutions, such as GPFS and Lustre.
- Demonstrated expertise in HPC performance optimization and troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
