Role Overview
The Electricity Authority is a Crown entity that regulates the electricity market, enhancing New Zealanders' lives and environment through sustainable practices. As we transition to renewable energy sources, our focus is on making a difference through bold thinking, collaboration, and delivering value for the communities we serve.

About the Position
This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Manager – Future Security and Resilience (FSR). In this position, you will support the transition to a net zero emissions economy by contributing to key transformational projects. You will draft Code amendments to ensure fit-for-purpose regulations that enable new technologies and address bi-directional power flows in an evolving power system.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to drafting Code amendments
- Support the FSR team in ensuring New Zealand's power system remains secure and resilient during the transition to a low-emissions system
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement transformational projects related to the electricity sector

Requirements
- Relevant qualification, preferably with an economics background
- Can-do attitude with high initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with the electricity industry preferred but not essential

Benefits
The starting salary for this role is from $100,903 to $126,129 and offered salary will be based on relevant skills and experience. A 3% net contribution to your Kiwisaver, flexible working options, health, wellbeing, and social initiatives are also available.
