Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Dunedin. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of HVAC Mechanical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day project activities, including supervision of direct staff and subcontractors;
  • Ensure quality, safety, and programme requirements are met;
  • Acquire materials, subcontractors, and coordinate efforts of direct staff and manufacturing workshop for ductwork;
  • Engage subcontractors in accordance with specific contract requirements and company operating procedures;
  • Act as first point of contact with client and/or main contractor;
  • Set and manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders;
  • Ensure applicable processes are utilised for construction and installation;
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools;
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with client and/or main contractor;
  • Conduct regular safety inspections on all aspects of work;
  • Maintain records of quality documents, non-conformance reports, changes to working drawings, and as-installed details.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant professional or technical tertiary qualifications;
  • HVAC Mechanical background with understanding of design and/or estimating skills;
  • Relevant construction industry experience with at least 5 years of experience and proven track record in project management roles in the HVAC Mechanical trade;
  • Proven experience in managing HVAC Mechanical installation teams within a construction environment, with passion for delivering high-quality customer satisfaction;
  • Experience of managing both self-delivery site staff and specialist subcontractors;
  • Knowledge of building and service regulations and statutory obligations;
  • Ability to schedule work, provide technical expertise, and support specialist subcontractors and staff where required;
  • Passion for maintaining safe working environment;
  • MS Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project proficiency;
  • New Zealand Drivers Licence.
