Job Overview

The Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai is seeking a skilled Treaty Relationships Advice Manager to support nationally led iwi relationships. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Maori Crown relationship and our Treaty obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead advice, coordination, planning and reporting to support nationally led iwi relationships.
  • Provide general advice and support for other Treaty Partner relationships.
  • Support Senior Managers, Treaty Partner Engagement, and People leadership.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the impact DOC and the wider public sector/government has on the Maori Crown relationship.
  • Awareness of the differences between Maori and non-Maori world views.
  • Knowledgeable about current Maori views.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
