Senior Events Manager

About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Events Manager to join our team. As Conference and Governance Lead, you will be responsible for planning and executing internal events from start to finish. This includes managing all aspects of event execution, including pre-event preparation, event deployment, and post-event review and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute internal events, ensuring seamless delivery and exceeding expectations.
- Manage interactions with government agencies, ministry officials, and other unions, promoting excellent manaakitanga and whakamanatanga for members and guests.
- Provide executive support to the National Secretary and Senior Leadership Team, utilizing your exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Lead a team of two direct reports in the Office of the National Secretary, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Negotiate rates with vendors and suppliers, ensuring optimal budget management.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in events management, with a proven track record of delivering successful conferences and events.
- Experience leading a team, preferably as a line manager, with a strong focus on leadership and mentorship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
