About Asda

We're committed to delivering high-quality patient care and putting our customers first.

Our extended service contracts with the NHS enable us to provide a wide range of care for minor eye conditions. As an Optometrist, your typical day will involve screening patients, coaching and training the wider team, while maintaining standards in the department.

At Asda, we're passionate about supporting our Optometrists with ongoing training and development opportunities. This ensures you have the skills and knowledge to meet the evolving eye care needs of our customers.

You'll be fully supported by in-store, regional, and home office teams, offering expert advice and guidance whenever needed.

Your Role

You'll play a key part in creating an environment that combines clinical and operational excellence, working alongside the Optical Manager. By collaborating with the wider department team, you'll support coaching, training, and developing new patient services to ensure we can offer our customers the most current and accessible services.

  • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
  • A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months – funded and supported by us)
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Able to deliver a memorable customer experience using your skills and passion for the role
  • Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department
