**Job Overview**

We are seeking a skilled Eye Care Specialist to join our team at the Canterbury District Health Board. This is a fixed-term full-time opportunity to cover a parental leave position for up to 12 months.

The role involves providing high-quality clinical services in paediatric and adult orthoptic investigation, diagnosis, and management. You will be working closely with our experienced Ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive eye examinations and assessments
  • Conducting visual field tests and cataract pre-assessments
  • Assisting with ophthalmic clinic duties and general eye care
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate or experienced Orthoptist with good clinical knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
