About the Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Animal Shelter Officer at Manukau Animal Shelter. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of animals and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Office-Based Tasks: Managing administrative tasks, customer service inquiries, cash handling, and facilitating adoptions.
  2. Dog Reunification: Following shelter procedures to reunite lost dogs with their owners.
  3. Relationship Building: Fostering strong relationships with internal team members, external partners, and the public.
  4. Compliance and Documentation: Ensuring compliance with the Dog Control Act 1996 and managing necessary paperwork.
  5. Animal Care: Assisting in animal care, including feeding, exercise, and providing enrichment activities, as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in a similar role or industry.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of software applications.
