About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Response Leader to join our team at the Ministry of Social Development. This role requires a high degree of leadership, stakeholder relationship skills, and experience in developing and implementing effective strategies and plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BUILD ORGANISATIONAL RESILIENCE: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Ministry's preparedness for emergencies.
  • LEAD A TEAM OF SPECIALISTS: Manage a team responsible for preparing the organisation for, and leading and responding to, emergencies.
  • COLLABORATE WITH OTHER AGENCIES: Foster strong relationships with other government agencies and external organisations to ensure effective collaboration and communication.

Requirements:

  • EXPERIENCE IN LEADERSHIP AT A SENIOR LEVEL: Proven ability to lead teams and make strategic decisions.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF NZ EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORKS: Familiarity with New Zealand's emergency management frameworks and systems.
  • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Experience in internal and external stakeholder management at all levels.
