Tū Māia Regional Youth Forensics provides specialist assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for young people involved in the youth justice system.
We offer a supportive and collaborative environment where you'll work alongside a team of experienced Forensic psychologists, psychiatrists, and Allied Health professionals.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Regional Youth Mental Health Professional.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, developing and implementing individualised treatment plans, and preparing forensic reports.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, lawyers, and law enforcement officers.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments, including risk assessments for self-harm, harm to others, and vulnerability.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy and behavioural strategies.
- Prepare clear and concise forensic reports communicating complex psychological concepts to legal professionals.
- Build strong therapeutic relationships with young people, taking into account their developmental stage, cultural background, and individual experiences.
- Collaborate effectively with your team to deliver high-quality services.
What We Are Looking For
- A Registered Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years' experience in child and adolescent mental health services.
- A strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Experience in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
