The Opportunity: Within our community-based District Wide Services, we are seeking an Occupational Therapist, to work within the Youth Forensics Liaison team based at 7 springs Road, East Tamaki.
Te Whitinga Mai, Youth Forensics Liaison team sits alongside the East Tamaki based Family Mental Health teams and the Auckland Regional Youth Forensic Service, Tu Maia.
The multi-disciplinary Team provide consultation liaison and specialist forensic interventions for vulnerable youth (and their family) who experience mental health problems and who are involved in the youth justice sector.
This is a growing team with a range of clinical skills and cultural expertise, and we are supportive of staff new to the team.
The team is actively working towards embedding trauma-informed practice with the principles of safety, choice, collaboration, trust and empowerment underpinning our team culture/ tikanga in all our work with colleagues, other services, young people, and families/whaanau.
You will be joining us at an exciting time in this process and help us to seek understanding of what has happened to the young people and their family/whaanau, make sense of their needs, and work with them to build strengths for their futures.
Internal training is provided and opportunities for professional development encouraged.
