The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Coordinator to join their team in Auckland CBD. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and project management support to help drive the organisation's sustainability initiatives across the construction industry.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Coordinating the delivery of NZGBC's technical programs and services, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines
  • Manage projects through registration, auditing, assessment, and certification stages
  • Providing technical advisory and support to NZGBC members, stakeholders, and the broader construction industry
  • Contributing to the development and review of NZGBC's technical standards, tools, and resources
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of NZGBC's training, events, and workshops
  • Collaborating with the wider NZGBC team to support the organisation's strategic objectives
  • Maintaining strong relationships with industry partners and contributing to NZGBC's advocacy efforts

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in a technical, project management or sustainability role within the construction industry
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Effectively manage staff and collaborate within a small team
  • Strong technical knowledge of green building and sustainability principles, as well as construction practices and processes
  • Excellent project management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as engineering, architecture or similar qualification
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, the built environment and familiarity with building rating tools (e.g., Green Star, LEED)
