Maori Development Policy Specialist

**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Kaitohutohu | Advisor to join our team in Rotorua. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting whanau, hapu, iwi, Maori organizations, and Maori communities in developing and implementing initiatives that promote long-term economic and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to promote Maori wellbeing and development.
- Foster relationships with stakeholders across iwi, public, and private sectors.
- Contribute to regional work programs, including leading and providing policy advice on project-related issues significant to Maori and Government.
- Act as an effective conduit for information both into and out of Maori communities to support Maori initiatives.
Requirements:
- Experience working with community, preferably with Maori, and collaborating with others to achieve work goals.
- Research skills, including evaluation of opportunities and risks.
- Demonstrated capability in providing high-quality advice and recommendations based on research.
- High level of written communication and ability to work with numbers, including spreadsheets and databases.
- Technologically savvy, especially with the Microsoft suite.
- Some understanding of and ability to speak reo Maori and comfortable working in a te ao Maori environment.
