Support Staff Growth and Development

We're seeking an experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our team as a Capability Developer in the Bay of Plenty region. This is a permanent full-time opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the growth and development of our staff.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with frontline staff to design and implement learning initiatives that enhance their skills and confidence. You will also measure the impact of these initiatives to ensure they align with MSD's goals.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering training programs that cater to the unique needs of our staff.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of our learning initiatives and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the organization to share best practices and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff to help them build their skills and confidence.
  • Conducting travel throughout the Bay of Plenty region to meet the development needs of our staff.

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in learning and development, preferably in a public sector or government agency.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
  • A valid Full New Zealand Driver's Licence and the ability to drive a Ministry vehicle.
