About the Role
The Senior Financial Leader for Whanau Manaaki Kindergartens will be the financial heart of our organisation, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects, from strategic planning and reporting to budgeting, compliance, risk management, and team leadership.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll provide critical financial guidance and empower your team to support our mission and ensure the long-term health of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the finance team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment where everyone can thrive.
- Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to empower your team members to reach their full potential.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of our strategic plan, providing financial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Evaluate and mitigate financial risks to protect our organisation.
- Collaborate with operational teams and Kindergartens to provide financial expertise and guidance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
You'll Bring
A tertiary qualification in accounting or a relevant field.
Proven leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and developing team members.
Experience in financial management, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to our Kaupapa.
