Purpose of the Role
This highly influential tier 3 role plays a key part in shaping the direction of Porirua's growth for generations to come. The Pou Matua Rautaki Maori, Manager Maori Strategy will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the Porirua City Maori Strategy Maungaroa 2050 and overseeing the delivery of strategic priorities identified in the Maungaroa 2050 activity plan.
The successful candidate will work across teams at Porirua City to deliver engagement strategies with mana whenua and matawaka. They will foster enduring relationships with mana whenua iwi authorities, hapu and whanau members. The Manager Maori Strategy will lead consultation on the social, environmental and economic aspirations for the future of Porirua.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor the Porirua City Maori Strategy Maungaroa 2050.
- Oversee the delivery of strategic priorities identified in the Maungaroa 2050 activity plan.
- Work across teams at Porirua City to deliver engagement strategies with mana whenua and matawaka.
