About the Role
This position is an integral part of the HSE team at Aliaxis NZ. Reporting to the National HSE Manager, you will make a strong contribution to the business by supporting the continual improvement of our Health, Safety and Environmental culture year on year.
The core responsibilities include:
- Implementing the organisation's health, safety, and environmental framework, plans and policies.
- Oversight and occasional delivery of HSE education and training to employees.
- Supporting the Aliaxis HSE audit programs and incident and investigation reporting programs.
- Assessing organisational risk and supporting the implementation of projects accordingly.
- Ensuring employee health & wellbeing activity programs are executed in a timely manner, such as health monitoring and flu jabs.
- Tracking H&S spending by site.
- Applying continuous improvement principles to drive Best Practice results.
- Supporting HSE Project delivery across Aliaxis NZ.
- Meeting both internal and external audit requirements.
This role is primarily based at Dynex, Avondale, Auckland; however, at least one day per week, the incumbent will travel to our Rx Plastics site in Horotiu, Hamilton. Other time will be spent planning and facilitating Aliaxis NZ-wide HSE projects to deliver a consistent outcome across the Group.
About You
We are seeking a positive, proactive, can-do attitude individual with relevant Degree or formal H&S qualification (i.e. NEBOSH Diploma, Dip OSH or equivalent). A minimum five or more years' experience in a H&S (and/or environmental) position in a manufacturing or similar environment is required.
A proven track record in influencing site personnel to take personal ownership of H&S is essential. Experience and knowledge in influencing behaviour, working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, ISO 14001, and safety guarding and device improvements in Manufacturing are highly desirable.
