**Join Our Team as an Ophthalmology Specialist**

We are excited to welcome a new member to our dynamic team at the Dunedin Public Hospital Eye Department. As an Ophthalmology Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing expert eye care services to the people of Otago and Southland.

About Our Department

Our department is committed to delivering high-quality eye care services that meet the needs of our community. We work closely with the University of Otago and the Otago Medical School to provide training opportunities for medical students and registrars.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will conduct routine ophthalmology clinics, theatre procedures, and outreach clinics.
  • You will participate in the 1:4 on-call roster and be expected to be flexible with your scheduling.
  • You will have the opportunity to contribute to the training of registrars from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Completed your specialist training and be eligible or already hold vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.Enthusiasm about teaching and passing your knowledge to junior members of staff.Excellent communication and time management skills.

What We Offer

This role offers a competitive salary range between Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata). You will also have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
