Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Counsellor

We are seeking a compassionate Counsellor to join our team at Habit Health's Victoria Street branch in Hamilton. As a key member of our EAP, you will provide short-term interventions and support to employees facing work-life issues.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Deliver focused interventions to empower clients with coping mechanisms for work and life challenges
  2. Visit worksites to provide timely support after events that disrupt business continuity
  3. Prioritise client needs by delivering counselling services via in-person, video, and telehealth
  4. Develop and deliver training programmes for employees
Requirements
  • A strong sense of empathy and understanding of human experiences
  • Current registration with relevant professional bodies (NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB, or NZCCA)
  • Tertiary-level Counselling or related qualification (Level 7)
  • Desirable experience in areas like psychological first aid, couples counselling, and working with children and teenagers
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy models (SFT, CBT, FACT) is advantageous
