Christchurch City Council Parks Unit is dedicated to promoting indigenous biodiversity and developing exceptional green spaces. Our team of passionate individuals work together to create a world-class environment for future generations.
We're looking for someone who shares our vision and values to join our Residential Red Zone team as a Ranger Field Operations.

This role involves leveraging your interests and experience in indigenous biodiversity and the natural environment to help maintain and enhance the values of the previously Red-Zoned properties.

You will be delivering a wide range of maintenance, upkeep, and improvements to Christchurch City's Residential Red Zone Parks.

Working in this space requires a passion for conservation and ecological restoration, a high level of fitness for outdoor work, and experience in controlling a wide range of animal and plant pests.

Knowledge in botany or horticulture is desirable.

Experience with farm maintenance such as using machinery and tools, installing irrigation, and maintaining fences is also desirable.

You'll be confident in your ability to work in small teams, have a high regard for health and safety, communicate and take action where required.

Being personable and approachable towards the wider community and willing to engage in community-organized events is also important.
