**Job Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst for Maori Health Outcomes to join our team in Wellington. As a key member of our Ministry, you will play a critical role in shaping strategic advice and driving evidence-based decisions to improve Maori health outcomes.

In this role, you will leverage both quantitative and qualitative insights to provide thought leadership and senior analytical expertise to guide decision-making that supports Government and Ministry priorities for healthier futures for Maori.

You will lead projects by planning, analysing, and reporting on diverse health data sets, delivering high-quality, timely, and evidence-based analysis that informs policy and program development.

Enhance the Ministry's analytical capability through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and collaborative peer review. Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all work upholds equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing critical input into key projects across the Ministry and the broader health sector
  • Leveraging quantitative and qualitative insights in shaping strategic advice and driving evidence-based decisions
  • Leading projects by planning, analysing, and reporting on diverse health data sets

**Key Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Proven thought leadership and senior analytical expertise, including the use of analytical tools such as SAS or R
  • Previous experience in applying critical analytical thinking and using sound judgement to support the development of options and provide advice
  • Previous experience working in central government and a thorough understanding of the machinery of Government
