The Ministry of Health is seeking two Principal Policy Analysts to join our Maori Health Strategy & Policy team.
In this role, you will drive the development of strategic policy advice that underpins our Government's and Ministry's objectives for pae ora (healthy futures) for Maori.Ko Ake Mahi - What You'll DoStrategic Policy Leadership: Play a pivotal role in delivering high-level policy advice in Maori health, ensuring our work supports Government and Ministry priorities.Policy Implementation & Monitoring: Contribute to the successful implementation and monitoring of the Hauora Maori Strategy.Project Management: Lead projects with a strategic and tactical focus, ensuring all work is meticulously planned and delivers high-quality advice.Technical Expertise: Provide senior technical guidance to inform decision-making and shape work programmes that best serve the needs of Maori.Team & Stakeholder Engagement: Enhance team capability through mentoring and coaching, and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the Directorate, Ministry, the wider health sector, and Maori communities.Ko Pukenga - What You'll BringAn appropriate tertiary level professional qualification and relevant work experience in policy settings.Significant experience in policy development in central agency settings, particularly public health policy.Excellent analytical and systems thinking with the ability to provide thought leadership in complex situations.A deep understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in policy and legislation processes.Demonstrated experience in developing and advising on complex policy issues and influencing and managing a range of complex stakeholders.Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles, including providing policy advice to Minister.Ko Wai Matou - About UsAt Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance.
