Ambulance Volunteer Support Specialist

Hato Hone St John is a leading provider of emergency medical services in New Zealand. As an Ambulance Volunteer Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our frontline crews by operating the First Response Unit (FRU) ambulance.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the FRU ambulance to respond to emergency incidents in your local area.
- Provide critical patient care until further assistance arrives.
- Work collaboratively with our experienced paramedics and other volunteers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months.
- You must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
- You must have excellent communication skills and be able to pass a physical assessment.
- You must be willing to commit to ongoing training and development to maintain your clinical practice level of First Responder.
We offer a comprehensive training program that includes:
- A two-day Operations Induction course.
- A two-day Operations Risk Management course.
- A two-day Ambulance Driving course.
- A four-day First Responder course.
Upon completion of the training program, you will be issued with a Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Emergency Care (First Responder). You will also be required to remain engaged in training and attend a reasonable number of callouts.
