About the Job:
We are looking for a highly motivated Conservation Search Specialist to join our team at Aoraki Mount Cook. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Rescue Team and providing search and rescue response work, training, and programme maintenance and development.
Key Deliverables:
- Develop and implement search and rescue programmes
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team
- Enhance search and rescue capabilities through collaboration with other teams
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Rock/ice climbing, mountaineering and alpine skiing competency
- New Zealand Certificate in Avalanche Risk Management (Level 6) or equivalent
- Capable of climbing steep, glaciated terrain
