About Our Job

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a National Heritage Project Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing national heritage projects that support our vision of having a thriving nature across Aotearoa.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  2. Provide guidance and support to regional teams in project development and delivery.
  3. Liaise with stakeholders, including whānau, hapū, and iwi, to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
  4. Maintain accurate records and reports, including national project reporting for the National Cultural Heritage Fund.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency and excellence in project delivery.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a conservation or heritage context.
  • Strong understanding of heritage conservation principles, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with experience working with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficient user of MS Office and relevant project management tools.
  • A passion for the Department's kaupapa and a commitment to upholding its values.
