About the Role

  • Apply knowledge of HDD certification and methodologies to integrate new technologies in disk drive hardware, firmware, and factory test processes to ensure successful execution in all phases of product development.
  • Develop test process code in support of new product launches.
  • Perform bench-level tests and data analysis to understand and resolve HDD failures.
  • Frequently interact with design engineering functions such as Controller Firmware, Test Process Engineering, Servo Firmware, Product teams, and Core Teams for development work and issue closure.
  • Be expected to have excellent problem-solving skills and work in a team environment spanning multiple countries.
  • Understand and debug all disk drive subsystems, including servo, mechanical, read/write, electronics, controller firmware, and factory test processes.

Your Experience

  • The job requires at least a degree (Bachelor or Masters) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 10 or more years' experience in HDD drive test processes.
  • You might also have:
    • Good knowledge of HD/CD/DVD/Tape drives.
    • Comprehensive understanding of HDD test processes.
    • Programming skills in Python and a working knowledge of C language.
    • Good Engineering knowledge and data analytical skills.
    • A good command of English in both written and verbal form.
