About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Environmental Leadership Role holder to lead and coach a small team of Treaty Implementation and Community Rangers in the Tamaki Makaurau region. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering critical statutory work, enabling team effectiveness, and communicating with stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and coach a team of Treaty Implementation and Community Rangers
  • Deliver critical statutory work in the region, including permission applications and Treaty settlement commitments
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about key work programmes
  • Collaborate with whanau, hapu, and iwi to understand their aspirations and needs
  • Prioritize staff safety, wellbeing, and development

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of Te Ao Maori concepts, tikanga, and whakapapa
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience mentoring and managing staff
  • A commitment to excellence, setting high personal and professional standards
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills, with the ability to navigate differing perspectives
  • A passion for conservation and an understanding of relevant legislation
