About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Environmental Communications Specialist to support our team in developing effective communication strategies and engaging with our community. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for crafting compelling messages, building relationships with stakeholders, and promoting our organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to engage with our community, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Craft high-quality content, including articles, social media posts, press releases, and other materials that promote our organization's mission and values.
  • BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH STAKEHOLDERS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO UNDERSTAND THEIR NEEDS AND CONCERNS.
  • CONDUCT RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS TO INFORM OUR COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES AND EVALUATE THEIR EFFECTIVENESS.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement effective engagement campaigns.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a communications discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of developing effective communication strategies and engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Strong writing, marketing, and communications skills.
  • Ability to interpret and translate complex information into clear and concise language.
  • Familiarity with te ao Māori and te reo Māori, or a willingness to learn.

You'll be a motivated and creative professional with a passion for environmental sustainability and community engagement. You'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
